Sikh Gurus

The Sikh gurus are spiritual leaders of Sikhi, who established this religion over the centuries, beginning in 1469. Guru Nanak Dev Ji, the founder of Sikhi, was the first Guru; his successors were also referred to as “Nanak” and used the name “Nanak” while penning down their spiritual verses.

Five Takhats

Takht or Taḵẖata (Punjabi: ਤਖ਼ਤ), which literally means a throne or seat of authority, are the spiritual & temporal centre of Sikhism. There are five Takhts and these Takhts are five gurudwaras which have a very special significance for the Sikh community

Sikh Martial Art GATKA

GATKA is the name of an Indian martial art associated with the Sikhs of the Punjab region, and with the Tanoli and Gujjar communities residing in mountainous regions of northern Pakistan who practice an early variant of the martial art. It is a style of stick fighting, with wooden sticks intended to simulate swords.

Promoting Sewa Culture

Sewa is a punjabi word which means selfless service. A great practice followed in Sikh culture. We organise various camps where  students, children or adults can follow the various Sewa practices and  can learn the art of sharing in a great way. It helps people to develop and connect spiritually with one another.

Organise Camps

Throughout the year we organise various camps where Sikh or Non-Sikh students can actively participate in a fun rich relaxed environment. Here everyone gets a chance to meet new people. These camps make people familiar with Sikh traditions and culture.

Gurbani Classes

The Guru’s Word (Gurbani) is what the Guru spoke. It is the imprint of the essence of God. It is the pathway to God. If the ordinary human being speaks it, it will always elevate him to that state of consciousness of the Guru. We organise classes for students who wants to learn Gurbani in a right way.

Kirtan Classes

Kirtan classes are based on traditional style of Kirtan learning and will cover step by step sessions for beginners in Kirtan. Here  the students will know the basics of Sabad Kirtan including relation between Gurbani and Rags, fundamentals of vocal singing, rhythm (tal), notation system and learn simran of Satinam Vahiguru and one Sabad in rag from experienced raagis.

Workshops on Punjabi Instruments

Throughout the year we  arranges classical music workshops for students. Eminent musicians and folk artists are invited as experts in these workshops. Students gets a chance to learn Punjabi instruments like Sarangi, Tumbi , Dilruba and Ektara etc.

Folk Music and Dance Classes

Punjabi folk music is associated with a traditional lifestyle and culture. The rhythm of Punjabi folk music is very simple. Unlike the rhythms of Bhangra music which are generally complex.During folk music and dance sessions studentscan go through the various steps in folk dances and can learn the art of folk singing as well.
